Odd words from Toto, he was talking up how fast Haas was. I am still completely cynical about their chances for the season and believe theyll finish pretty low down in the rankings.

I wonder why Haas went with teh horizontal blinds barge board. Are they gaining downforce from them or using that air to seal off something?

They make the wheels, bulkheads, and a bunch of other things with the namesakes machines. That clutch lever seems to be the simplest bit they make

This is a very effective car, the Ferrari copy diffuser works a treat, the rest is very uncluttered, regardless they're the car that lost the most top speed over last year which means they have a lot more drag/downforce. Funny though they got more out of their diffuser than Sauber which has a very similar diffuser, must because they just kept it simple instead of trying all that fancy crap.

I think there's an optimum level of complexity for the best performance, while some cars are overly complex and harder to get at the optimum level, some are overly simple, this year's Haas has started somewhat underdeveloped but close to the ideal balance.
