In fact this is a very stiff slap down from Germany.ADAC speaker wrote: "We view with regret and incredulity the FIA general assembly's decision in Paris, confirming Max Mosley in office as FIA president. This is a reason for Europe's largest automobile club to let its functions and co-operation in FIA working groups rest at world level. ADAC will stay with its decision as long as Max Mosley holds the top FIA office of president.
A lovely turn of phrase!! I bet they might need some bandages too, knowing what Max likes to do to his assWhiteBlue wrote:well, it went different to my expectations. I suspect that Mosley has some asses up his sleeve against Mr. Ecclestone.

I can see the downfall of the FIA, with that sicko at the helm...
Neville Thurbeck may have hit a huge own goal against his NoTW there.grandprix.com wrote:The vote took place after a meeting lasting two and a half hours during which 15 delegates spoke. Anthony Scrivener also gave his legal opinions about the Mosley Scandal and pointed out that the films of Mosley's orgy included a part in which the reporter from the News of the World told the prostitutes involved to try to get Mosley to make Nazi references. If this allegation is true it will have a big effect on the legal actions going on.
disagree! The FIA has been underutilizing it's position far too long. until 2007 the CRH was holding all the trump cards in the F1 power game. the team principals were eager to convert voting rights into money that only the CRH could grant. so the rules were effectively controled by Bernie.Scotracer wrote:... The FIA has been abusing it's position for far too long and with the major clubs (apart from MSA, it has to be said) splitting, a new governing body could bring F1 back to what it should be.
Mario Theissen wrote:The relevant bodies of the FIA have passed a vote of confidence in Max Mosley, which means he will see out his term of office as President of the FIA, ending in October 2009. We respect this decision, which was made by the delegates in full knowledge of the facts. It is important now for everyone concerned to turn their undivided attention back to the sport.
'Agrees' with rather than "confirms" and I agree with Scotracer the FIA has long abused it position rather than underutilize as you claim plus the rules were not 'effectively ' controlled by BE but were firmly under the control the Max and by extention the FIA. Today vote proves how and why the FIA has long been able to abuse it powers...something the dutch contingent alluded to and Paul Stoddard mentioned, ie in effect Max's power base is in the smaller clubs.BMW statement confirms my view that the manufacturers will arrange themselves:
you are entitled to your opinion regarding the powers in F1. I just happen to hold a different opinion.mcdenife wrote:'Agrees' with rather than "confirms" and I agree with Scotracer the FIA has long abused it position rather than underutilize as you claim plus the rules were not 'effectively ' controlled by BE but were firmly under the control the Max and by extention the FIA. Thiessen does not speak for BMW let alone the manufacturers so it is wrong for you to call this a "BMW statement"
