Nothing to do with luck. Complacent, finish at the slowest pace race strategy. - just stupidity from the pit wall.Restomaniac wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:02The luck that Vettel had in race 1 totally abandoned him today.

They lost the win with that strategy - but redbull won with luck. If the safety car was called 15 seconds earlier, Vettel and Bottas could have pitted. 15 seconds later, redbull would have gone past the pit entry.Chene_Mostert wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:06Nothing to do with luck. Well Vettel was just keeping Bottas at safe distance. I thought that Merc will smoke everyone on meds but didntPoleman wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:07Despite all the happenings in the race Ferrari didnt really make an impression in race pace today as many of us believed after qualy...What an unpredictable race at the end and to be fair as much as i love Danny Ric this idolizing from SKY commentary made me cringe, guy was on much fresher tyres on his moves plus the guys ahead were smart to back off or else kaboom...Anyways on to Baku!
Ferrari and Mercedes were neck and neck on pace. Redbull lucked into the win with the timing of the safety car. Not sure what you’re talking about...Poleman wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:07Despite all the happenings in the race Ferrari didnt really make an impression in race pace today as many of us believed after qualy...What an unpredictable race at the end and to be fair as much as i love Danny Ric this idolizing from SKY commentary made me cringe, guy was on much fresher tyres on his moves plus the guys ahead were smart to back off or else kaboom...Anyways on to Baku!
Hyperbole. Mercedes did this with Bottas in Barcelona 2017 and Hamilton at barhrain this year. It’s what you do...
This is exactly what Mercedes got smoked on here for doing in Australia.F1NAC wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:10Well Vettel was just keeping Bottas at safe distance. You have double standards...Mansell89 wrote:Ferrari’s treatment of Kimi today was probably more disappointing to me than all of the other things today. What an absolutely awful way to treat their driver, 3 races in after he’s driven pretty beautifully every weekend so far.
Yes Bottas and Vettel didn't have a chance to pit but the mistery is why they didn't box Hamilton.JPBD1990 wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:07They lost the win with that strategy - but redbull won with luck. Ferrari lost on strategy.
Redbull won with luck.
Simple.
Racing gods paid them handsomely for that kind of treatment to Kimi. he has become defacto guniea pig of the team.JonoNic wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:12You have double standards...Mansell89 wrote:Ferrari’s treatment of Kimi today was probably more disappointing to me than all of the other things today. Yeah agree. I couldn’t believe they sacrificed RAI to block BOT. Just think of it. If they hadn’t done that RAI could have been second or first.
We are saying the same thing, what i was trying to point is that Ferrari didnt have a huge advantage in pace (if any advantage at all) over Mercedes after yesterday's qualy speculation.CheersJPBD1990 wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 10:10Ferrari and Mercedes were neck and neck on pace.
