To be fair. Many of the guys here were calling it as it happened. With no or little telemetry.

Indeed those same people also rightly questioned Mercedes' strategy for them leaving Hamilton out as well.

Hamilton clearly asked the same question in the race and I've no doubt an honest Raikkonen would say the same if asked.

RIC already has 10% of Hamilton's career victories 🤣

If he gets to a top team with a top PU...

Indeed. Although only 10% of his victories having competed in about 60% of the races. So he's well off target that way :lol:

any statistics out there with how many races Lewis won while qualifying let's say out of top3?

I'll be seriously disappointed if RIC doesn't get a championship contesting car in the near future...

I ask myself what would happen if Max crashed in Baku once again. :wtf: Increasing pressure for sure.

He wasn't lucky to start his career in a championship winning car like Lewis did.

watching Alonso (mclaren) pass Vettel(ferrari) was the moment of the day for me.
Then you have very low standards =D>
what matters at the end of day is standing on the board ?.Using Kimi as a Guinea pig does show high standards ferrari as a racing team have.i like racing and overtakes. i guess even racing gods are fed up of boring processions.
Like other teams don't it either. Remember 2017 Spanish gp ? Mercedes purposely kept Bottas out on worn tyres to block Vettel which Bottas freely admitted.

With Renault PU? :D quite poor attempt at trolling mate...

He might have a great chassis, but that PU is a lackluster, there is no discussion about it

Using the ergast db, from grid starts outside top 3:

q=paste0('SELECT COUNT(d.driverId) AS wins FROM drivers d JOIN results rs JOIN races r WHEre r.raceId=rs.raceId AND position=1 AND d.driverRef="hamilton" AND d.driverId=rs.driverId AND rs.grid>3 ')
> dbGetQuery(ergastdb, q)
wins
4

And from official qualifying out of top 3 (penalties may have meant time was actually in top 3...)

q=paste0('SELECT COUNT(d.driverId) AS wins FROM drivers d JOIN results rs JOIN races r JOIN qualifying q WHEre r.raceId=rs.raceId AND r.raceId=q.raceId AND rs.position=1 AND d.driverRef="hamilton" AND d.driverId=rs.driverId AND d.driverId=q.driverId AND q.position>3 ')
> dbGetQuery(ergastdb, q)
wins
4

I hope to start adding more things like that to trivia sections of f1dj reviews. Latest report for Chinese GP here: https://chn2018gp.f1datajunkie.com/

Kimi wouldnt make an overtake in this formula if his life depended on it. I think, given his sensitivity to handling, amount of dirty air that makes you lose DF behind the car makes him not very well suited for overtakes. He seems to suffer more then anyone...

What his race looked like...

Trolling? Please read what that is before you accuse someone of that.

A car you can win races like this with, is a championchip contender. Perhaps not the strongest one. And I think the pu is not so bad as RB wants everybody make believing.

I guess that you are overlooking the fact that until the SC came out, Vettel was lining up to pass Bottas, on newer tyres.
So even if Ferrari were tardy in calling Vettel in, there was a reason for it, and frankly it was actually working.
Vettel's tires were just one lap newer, not an offset worth anything, if Vettel was pressuring Bottas was due to being faster.
