i think pre- test problems push mclaren little back to secure some possible problems with the new car...and save money ..the good news is we take a lot points in the first 3 races..and lot data with 3 double finish races ..i take a look on calendar and i see on jul have 4 races ...that is very critical point on this year targets...and if remember correct somewhere is three peat this year ? 3 races in 3 week?.. i love it ..but the team must be ready there ..with no time for develop for this races... i hope to see between spain-monaco-canada ...the new car with the new engine with lot pace gains and make the team to greate new group of top 4 and no top 3 teams....for baku i hope for chaos in the race ...and top 5 finish
The testing issues certainly pushed them back a little, but the new nose has clearly taken longer to get ready for passing the crash test than expected too. Makes me wonder how different it must be, because McLaren have always passed their nose tests very early in recent years. I don't think it's a money issue, they're not going to waste development on this "2017 B-Spec" car with such a different 2018 car in the works. If this update improves their qually pace as expected, it should also help improve their race pace. Hopefully it's enough to lift them to the front of the midfield, giving them a platform to chase the top 3, but I'll settle for 4th for now!
