Honestly surprised at this change. To me he has always seemed like one of those 'Company' people who are comfortable at one job. More than anything else this is what gives me cause for concern because if long standing people like this are suddenly removed or leave a position then many times it is due to either the person having lost faith in the company, chaos in management, or fundamental disagreements in the way the company is going.

I really hope I'm wrong.
I mean, how many people saw Ron Dennis being moved out of McLaren, times are a changing.

I think Peter Prod might want Tim's job.

Iirc he re-joined Mclaren on the basis of having wider responsibilities than just chief of aero.

Interesting times ahead.

I still feel he may be moved somewhere else within the company, but I could be wrong of course. To be honest, since the MP4-29, I haven't been too convinced of Goss on the technical level. I remember when James Allison was available in 2016, I had hoped he would be brought in.
Anyway, I just hope the decision was made for administrative reasons.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

The thought had crossed my mind too. Maybe PP isn't being allowed to fully express his concepts and TG's have proved to be the wrong direction?

Nothing against Allison or your opinion, but has not the Merc been more and more of a diva since Allison was brought on board? I'm just not convinced of the guy anymore, tbh.

Maybe time for fresh blood. Nobody heard of Binotto when he took control of the engine department and after his promotion he seems just as good for aero and overal car performance. Maybe there are newer guys out there than Allison, Lowe and PP.

I think Mercedes are struggling with tyres, notably the softer compounds, switching them on, more than the other top teams from all indications. But I think it's still well balanced and quick.

Bad article imo. Nothing realy insightful.

Mclaren is just the new Williams, but with more money for now.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

We sure this has anything to do with whether the chassis "Draggy" or not and everything to do with stuff being 2 months late?
From autosport forum:
Joe Saward, March 28th:
I also have a rhetorical question: what do you think would happen if an F1 technical director became rather "tired and emotional" (as Private Eye used to say) on a flight home from Australia (while in team travel gear), and was to cause trouble on the plane, including making rude remarks about his team principal - to the man himself. I guess such a thing would be a firing offence, wouldn't it?
Wow, if this is a reliable source... can´t be a coincidence if one month later Goss is fired :o

He has a e-magazine that he writes after every grand prix. www.grandprixplus.com
He also does audiences at selected GPs where you can ask any question. The one in London, Dec 2017 was good.

I dont know if we can assume that Goss being removed and the incident that Joe speaks about are the same person.
Maybe he will write about it in the days after Azerbaijan.

Correct.

I happen to agree with him as many others do.
