Mercedes is dominating "turning" circuits, so it will be Mercedes.GPR-A wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 11:22The most boring, so called race, on the F1 calendar. Can't wait for the weekend to be over and look forward to Canadian GP!
My money is on Red Bull. Anything else would be a surprise.
Would be awesome to see a McLaren on podium. Yeah, too much to ask for. But what the heck!
Mercedes have admitted they are "bloody worried" about their anticipated competitiveness against Red Bull and Ferrari in this weekend's Monaco GP.
Damage limitation this weekend, if they could take 4th/5th I think they'd be happyF1Fan2018 wrote:http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12472/ ... -monaco-gp

If they have taken a step forward in their understanding of the tires they could just as well take pole and the win.Justthatek wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 17:49Damage limitation this weekend, if they could take 4th/5th I think they'd be happyF1Fan2018 wrote:http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12472/ ... -monaco-gp

When Mercedes was the ne plus ultra of Qualifying.NathanOlder wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:26I think they will be happy to see Red Bull dominate, but saying that, last year was a similar story and Bottas was only 0.002 behind Vettel in qualifying.
what are you trying to say, this sentence makes no sense.LM10 wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:42When Mercedes was the ne plus ultra of Qualifying.NathanOlder wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:26I think they will be happy to see Red Bull dominate, but saying that, last year was a similar story and Bottas was only 0.002 behind Vettel in qualifying.
May be he is saying, Mercedes were class of the field in qualifying last year and hence they were closer by 0.002 and because this year, they aren't the fastest in qualifying, they might be quite far behind. Theoretically, it might be correct.dans79 wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:46what are you trying to say, this sentence makes no sense.LM10 wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:42When Mercedes was the ne plus ultra of Qualifying.NathanOlder wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 18:26I think they will be happy to see Red Bull dominate, but saying that, last year was a similar story and Bottas was only 0.002 behind Vettel in qualifying.

The only glimmer of hope for Mercedes is, they have moved to the opposite spectrum of tyre issues, where they are now having issues with warming up the tyres, Hypersoft could be a saving grace as it is the softest in the range and should heat up faster too. If this is true, then they should feel OK.
