Lauda just said it's probably a one-stop.

I think you can overtake, especially if your 2 seconds+ a lap faster due to the tyres.

Did't Schumacher get up to about 4th once starting from the back?
We are not talking about a bygone era. In 2015, after a Mercedes fu** up, when Lewis came behind Vettel with fresh new tires, he couldn't do anything. He was so fast that day, he had 22 second margin over the second placed Nico when Mercedes pulled in for a stop. But when he emerged out of pits 3rd, he ended there and couldn't pull a move. That's Monaco for the new cars!

On the press conference after the qualy all 3 drivers said it`ll be a one-stop race ... so, in case of a safety car in the first 10 laps who is gonna come in for the tyres?

One thing you can consider to take into account are the backmarkers. The teams that will be 1 lap down can easily cost a leading driver infront at least 1-2 seconds if they appear in that tight S2.

Funny thought - the championship would be really interesting for the next few races if Hamilton and Vettel take each other out at the start...

We just need enough rain to make the oil on the road rise to the surface. A lack of grip will bring some unpredictability to this procession.
Always find the gap then use it.

F1's HUD showing a 31:17,810 lap from Ricciardo. When are they gonna stop screwing things up with their new graphics?

So reverse into the racing line and you are fine.
Not get your tyres on inside of 3 MINUTES of the formation lap? 10 second S&G.

Modern F1 right there.

So is Ric running them slow in front to cause graining on Merc and Ferrari front tyres? They can't generate heat in the tyres

Not really we have everyone touring around with very, very few car bits missing.
