Is roll hoop still necessary?

A question:
Roll hoops were there to ensure when the car turned upside down, the bridge formed by the front of the chassis and the hoop would protect the driver.

Halo presents a new point so that an upside down car would lean on it and the hoop.

Now to the question: If the halo’s trailing edge was slightly raised to be just above the driver’s head, wouldn’t it be able to protect the driver’s head from getting crushed? In that case, there wouldn’t be a need for a roll hoop.

Why was this not considered? Is it because it would be too big of a change?

Getting out of an overturned car would be a problem though, unless the halo was as high as the roll hoop

I still believe that the halo will plough if the overturned car is sliding in gravel. That centre section looks like it would dig in.

It is not just to protect the head when the car is upside down, it is also a tipping point so that the weight spills the car from directly inverted and allows access to the driver.
It is also a useful balance point to lift the car by a single sling.

I´m still afraid about drivers getting out of the car if upside down with the halo, I think the space is just too tight even if on asphalt, imagine on gravel with the rool hoop digged into the gravel...

I'm no expert on that front, but we are speaking about a structure that can hold 12 tonnes of weight. However, I believe it is designed at very specific points to be cut by a plasma cutter in the sense of getting it cut the fastest way possible without loosing strength in the structural design (or bringing the driver in danger b/c of the plasma cutter ).

It would take 5s for each side pillar and 2s for the front pillar according to test. So around 15s in total to cut it open?
