These mirrors with channels for sure must be there to direct air into top inlet!

Oh, wait...

Where's the topside extension? 8)

Not directly channeled into the intake, but the Ferrari intro spec mirror looked like it would deflect air downward, which would affect airflow over the sidepod and necessarily the topside inlet. This STR version is vertically symmetrical.

If those mirror designs bend the airflow down into the inlet, where shall all the air between the mirror and the inlet go?

Not into, but closer to. The volume of air beneath subsequently influenced as well. The proximity of the two devices/features begs the question. (If replying to me.)

Just by looking at them I'd say they are to reduce air disturbance around the mirror (makes the air flow more tighly around them). Similar idea to the Redbull nose.

There's a bottom extension. 8)

Extension is there on Ferrari since air is naturally going down towards the inlet, it's not being directed there by mirrors. To not have that extension would mean disturbing the air entering radiator intake.

That's exactly what's going on.

I think you were conflating wake mitigation with directionality of the wake by saying the flow-through-mirror being present on another car negates the possibility that Ferrari could have been trying to direct airflow with their intro-spec flow-through mirror. Each, as you point out, has significant geometry differences unique to each car.

Mirror arms also worth considering here. If aero neutrality only was the goal, why no mirrors with thin supporting stalks, something like RB's pitot tube:

Most teams instead using larger than necessary, structurally inefficient, redunant guide vanes to hold the mirrors.

Yes I do. And yes it does.

Toro Rosso has joined the first and second cut from the back of the floor into a single longer one.
