Floor slots have become very complete and more numerous compared to previous years. If we 'assume' that knowledge of these complex designs was available in previous years, why are we seeing them used at this time? What aspects of the aero design has change to require these complex slot designs at this time?
Is it developments with the front wings or floor/diffusers that make them useful?
Trying to understand how the designers get from A to B with their aero designs.
