Very nice. Gearbox 2-0 Merc.
Hamilton clearly destroyed the car on the kerbs.

I bet the failure was down to him. Those curbs must've damaged the car heavily.

Mercedes FW109 EQ POWER doesn’t like running over bumps.

1st mistake, running wide (probably not that costly, just some laptime) but the second mistake, flooring the throttle and not even trying to brake after running wide did the trick.

Don't understand why Lewis didn't back out of it on a nothing lap, if Bottas takes pole he will be kicking himself alright.

So far Merc and Ferrari matched in S1 and S3 but Ferrari over 3 tenths faster in S2.

Because it's human nature to power through things first before attempting to stop in those situations. E.g., feeling of dropping elicits a feeling to quickly grab on to something in order to pull yourself out (accelerator in this case, which offers the opposing force to slipping off the turn).

Another hydraulics problem. Is that car so fragile when driven over the kerbs?

Where did he stop? was it between turn 10 and 11?

In theory he could have pushed the car back into the pits, but the moment the german marshalls touched the car it was over, wasn't it?

That looks brutal. Could very well be that this was the reason.
