What would the penalty be for that?
I don't think it would apply to Hamilton. Hamilton didn't enter the pits, so it's a moot point. The rule applies to drivers entering the pits (e.g. he did not).
Entered the pit gantry plus passing the entry bollard which is clearly stated under Section 8.2
He did that. He passed the Bollard on the right. There's no rule (AFAIK) that states he is not allowed to go back on to the track after that point. If there was, it would be a black/white rule that would trigger an automatic penalty. If the stewards missed it, I would assume another team could launch a formal appeal against the race result post race.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

This sport can really learn a thing or two from MotoGP.. Never seen a teamorder there in my life. I am really considering to stop watching F1 completely.

The sport offers zero amusement. And any amusement that’s there, gets destroyed by the teams.
haha, do it. I mean stop watching. Because team orders is older than F1 in F1 :)

17 point lead in the title race must feel like back to back wins.

This race will mark a great change in the championship. I look to Lewis pace and I sincerely think he is the favourite to win this year too.

- no such compulsion with Mercedes who, once again, blatantly use team orders (nothing wrong with that, but they and their fans like pretend that’s a Ferrari thing)
It was only after Bottas did try to pass Hamilton and failed that Mercedes told him to hold station. After the SC came in he had a pretty big go at it, but he couldn't pull it off. Nothing wrong there, methinks. Mercedes just didn't want to throw away the double.

Can we speculate about how Raikkonen could have won this race if he hadn't had to let Vettel pass?

Sack Kimi pls. His race pace is dreadful to watch...

Last year it all started from Singapore GP. This year it arrived bit early. It is amazing how much of luck HAM is having even when bad luck strikes him.

Boooo Mercedes. Shame on you. I don't think Bottas would have made it past though and Hamilton is too strong in these kind of conditions. But still.
Farrari’s team orders earlier made Raikkonen give Vettel the place.
Because Raikkonen was supposed to be on a 2 stop strategy. That's why he spent as many laps in front of Vettel as he did. It was only after he started hurting Vettel's tires (by being in Raikkonen's dirty air) that hey decided to let Vettel go. Chance of rain made Ferrari keep Raikkonen out. I don't know which race you were watching if you did not know all this. If it was clear team orders, Raikkonen would not have spent a single lap in front of Vettel. And yes, let's just conveniently forget Austria.

Exactly. Bottas was given the chance to pass, failed, and then was told to play the team game. He said as much too after the race.
