Race directors notes at the start of the race weekend;

8. Lines or bollards at the pit entry and pit exit
8.1 In accordance with Chapter 4 (Section 5) of Appendix L to the ISC drivers must keep to the right of the white line at the pit exit when leaving the pits, no part of any car leaving the pits may cross this line.
8.2 For safety reasons drivers must stay to the right of the bollard at the pit entry when entering the pits.

Well, no punishment, just like I expected.

"...by a car entering the pit lane is prohibited."
Hamilton didn't actually enter the pit lane so, he did nothing prohibited.
He went into pit lane entry, which he can NOT come back to track without force majeure.
That's only for cars "entering the pit lane". He didn't enter the pit lane.

Irrespective of what the outcome will be, I personally think Hamilton thoroughly deserved that win with the determination he drove that car in the dry and in the wet. It would be a pity for it to be stripped away based on something that happened within a split second.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Obviously any car in the pitlane will not go through pit wall to join the race track. They have to but probably don't have the balls give penalty.

Regardless of the outcome Hamilton deserve victory. The most important thing is that Stewarts will always rule in the same way

yeah but if you entered the pit lane, how could you rejoin the track? why it should be specified ? it would be absurd that they made a rule specifically for people entering the pitlane, stopping, reversing and cut the grass.

28) PIT ENTRY, PIT LANE AND PIT EXIT
28.1 The section of track between the first safety car line and the beginning of the pit lane will be
designated the “pit entry”.

What do you want to say with that?

They HAVE to set a precedent now and always follow that, otherwise it is a mess

Yeah, hit submit too quick. I can't find on any track maps where the SC1 is. Anyone have that info? Does it coorespond to the pit entry bollard?

What is that I don't get is; OK it's prohibited. What's the penalty? Is that on the rules?
Don't tell me because of prior penalties. The Raikkonen thing is really different because there were special notes.

So, Charlie could say OK it's prohibited but because of circumstances (SC, really slow speed, not feeding into racing line) it will be a warning. it isn't clear cut that it should be a time penalty imposed.

Hahah...first time in a while that Mercedes used team orders! Vettel crying for Kimi to let him through was nothing special to you it seems! Take a look at Hungary 2017 to see what's called sportsmanship! 😉
