Be my guest then and carry on with your question. I pass it to you and it will be your duty to determine who solved the riddle. :)

This is a pure guess but I think Pescara was the longest circuit length used for as GP somewhere around 18 miles long and used from the 20's onwards - slightly longer than the Nurburgring at 14.7 miles and 187 corners - Ciro should jump in here he's a whole website dedicated to circuits. Pescara though was a road circuit wasnt it - does that count?? :)

A lap of Le Mans was more than 103km long in 1906. Held by Automobile Club de l'Ouest the race was known as the first Grand Prix ever. The winner (despite having a moustashe :) ) Ferenc Szisz did 12 laps in 2 days in his Renault.

Of course the circuit was built on public roads. Does that count? Perhaps then you can count Targa Florio in, as it was about 5 times as long. I think It wasn't 'prepared' for racing that much though, those were just road races while in Le Mans they had to build some peices of road specifically for the race.

Well, I guess I didn't pay attention to the fact/detail
am I asking for a lap of a permanent race track (autodrome)
a park, road, street circuit.

At first I thought of Brno, recalling it's lenght of 29.140 km
But I checked again, and it was actually a road circuit
"....the roads in Brno suburbs were reconstructed...".

So, Pescara with 25.8 km http://i36.tinypic.com/345ybt3.gif
and that mamooth Le Mans circuit should count.
Over to you Modbaraban or Chaparral. Can't hand advantage to anyone...

Well if both count...

@ Chaparral I'll post a question, since mine is longer. Oh I meant the track

-------------------
This one is simple.

Which team was the last to leave F1 crashing its cars into each other in the last race?

All right, Modbaraban continues.

However, White Blue was wrong. Clue: the guy that used plates with SS runes used the number SS-333, was an actual SS member. He was head of Porsche and married in the Nürburg Ring (very appropriate). Won the Mille Miglia. So, White, what's his name?

About the longest track in F1 history, this are the figures:

- Longest GP circuit: Le Mans, 1906, 123186 m.

- Other GP circuits, longer than Nürburgring before WWII that hosted GPs (to answer the question posted):
  • Le Mans, 1911-1913, 54313 m
Brno (actually, it was named Masaryk, after the first president of Czechoslovakia, the name changed in the 80's), 1930-1948, 29142 m
    Baix Penedés/Tarragona, 1908-1909, 27885 m
- Longest permanent closed course F1 track in history: Interlagos, 1978-1989, 7974 m. Before that, from 1940-1977, 7960m. Nowadays it has 4309 m.

Of course I know that Monza, in the configurations used in 1922-1933, 1955, 1956, 1960 and 1961 was a 10000 m monster, but they used some public roads (park roads, actually).

- Longest active permanent closed course F1 track: Spa Francorchamps, 6976 m.

- Longest active circuit approved by FIA: Le Mans, 13650 m.

- Longest race in history: Paris - New York, 1908, 36000 km

Fritz Huschke Sittig Enno Werner von Hanstein

http://img32.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ss3288cn.jpg I do not like posting this picture as SS material is illegal in my country. So a link will do.

He wasn't actually the head of Porsche but head of racing and marketing communications department.

Was that Webber and Klien at Brazil in the 2004 Jaguar?
http://www.grandprix.com/gpe/rr731.html

I´m not sure if my answer is valid, as Klien could rapair and finish the race.

BTW, Webber and Pizzonia (both Williams) crashed in Brazil 2005 and then Webber and Rosberg (both Williams) crashed in Brazil 2006!

Definately a tricky one, Modbaraban.
Do you mean "crashing out" of the race?
