renault is crap and will stay crap .there is not enough money, and there testing facility needs a big update, viry-châtillon looks like a big pile of garbage.
Mercedes Approx. €450 million
Ferrari Approx. €430 million
Red Bull Approx. €350 million
McLaren Approx. €250 million
Renault Approx. €200 million
Sauber Approx. €135 million
Williams Approx. €135 million
Toro Rosso Approx. €125 million
Haas Approx. €110 million
Force India Approx. €110 million
with the current facility's renault has they need to spend like 600mil+ for like 3 years straight to come close to top 3.
Do those figures include engine build development on the 4? or is that considered a separate budget?
It would look far different if engine 'cost' is removed.
Those lists don't really work as a comparison on their own. All the top teams have a different structure.
For instance, Mercedes and Ferrari build their own PU and I don't think those costs are in this chart while for RedBull they are costs. Another big part of F1 teams is their marketing department. Mercedes runs their own but Ferrari has a deal with Philip Morris for that whole area. And then there is HAAS without a factory and Toro Rosso that shares a lot of facilities with RedBull (like marketing, drivers development, etc etc)
A better list would be a combination of budget with the amount of engineers working there on how many departments they develop themselves (gearboxes for instance, HAAS, F1, STR and Sauber just lease them, McLaren, RedBull, Williams and Ferrari build their own and Mercedes themselves have part of the work outsourced to Xtrac) or do they run their own tunnel or do they rent one. Especially FI is very good at how to run a team as efficiently as possible.
