Do What ? ? ? Riccardo is going to Renault in 2019. Any way you look at that it messes with the status quo.

Will Marcin Budkowski still be influential at Renault's next year? I think that is more influential than Ric.

Always find the gap then use it.

Well it very well may be more influential than any driver changing teams. That "fox" has been in ALL the hen houses. Just my opinion, but he shouldn't have been allowed on any F-1 team while the technology he could have garnered is current. Can't see any way he could do his job with Renault and not use his acquired knowledge. I could see that move leading to a never ending flood of lawsuits. Going on USA standards.

I support my home team when I get one. As much as I'm supporting NFL this season, being a North Carolinian. I pull for The Panthers. Good, bad or ugly. I now have a home team in F-1. Right down the road; actually. Good, bad or ugly (real ugly this year.) they are my team. I can see no way Romain Grosjean will remain in a HASS seat. Or any driver's seat imo. I've had "the hots" for Alonso coming to HASS for over a year now. In my little mind this is how it plays out.....

One of these days McLaren will be back, and dominate.. Not in Alonso's career though. If Alonso is going to continue in F-1 with any hope of another podium on any step, he needs to move. Yes... there is a seat going to open at Red Bull. Does he really want to go to a team where he's going to have a rival for primary driver? Has Alonso got the taste of HONDA out of his mouth yet ? Alonso is looking for separation from other drivers of his caliber. He said he didn't need the money.... I heard that myself. His career moves have put him in a position that he'll never be in the winning ranks of the top drivers. BUT ! ! ! Gene Hass has something he could offer Alonso that would set him apart from even those top drivers in any of the professional racing series. Lets suppose...... IF the week-end fell on an off-week for F-1. Say somewhere around the time of the USGP. Bruton Smith could make that happen. Gene Hass might be able to wrangle a seat to a NASCAR road course drive for Alonso. Maybe like at the new road course Bruton opened up at Charlotte Motor Speedway ? Think about it. Alonso would have a possibility to have piloted, in competition, F-1, LMP's, Indy and were he to hook up with HASS. A possible competitive ride in a NASCAR ! That would put him in an elite class of Foyt, Clark, Gurney, Andretti, Ruby and Montoya who have crossed so many crafts in professional racing. Don't care how long you wait; that opportunity only comes around ever so often. HASS cars haven't faltered this season because of the cars. Team co-ordination has sucked ! Were it not for bad luck of tools failing. Or maybe dumb moves of mechanics. Haven't figured that one out yet.. Poor strategy and one driver in particular. This would have been a pretty good season for HASS .....

So HEY ! ALONSO ! Piedmont, North Carolina is a great place to live. Four hours or less from the mountains or the ocean. Little in-climate weather in comparison to the rest of the world. No bad earthquakes. Cost of living is pretty low in comparison to the rest of the country. Of course that probably wouldn't be a consideration. Bar- B-Q....... Sweet Tea.....Great music... If you want privacy ? Not a soul knows anything about F-1 around here. So........... COME ON DOWN ! ! ! Make Gene an offer.

But that's just "in my little mind."

That I would very much like to see. Even if Alonso still wants to go for Indy 500, another notch on his bedpost would be good. It may even get the tins a little air time in Europe.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Well I guess Alonso WON'T be coming to HASS.
