Quite a few missed shifts there for Mika. This appears to be the Le Mans winning car (road car chassis #019 which became race car #01R) which, like all of the '95 F1s at Le Mans, had the stock road car gearbox. Later, the racing gearboxes were altered to give better reliability.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
A bit of history (sorry if already posted earlier in the thread) - Spa in 1955.
Just 13 cars - small grids aren't a modern thing, and team orders - not just hand over your place but hand over your car. Some things don't change, it seems.
What does change is the safety and overall standards in place. Time for the race? Sure, drive your car through the town's streets, over cobbles, to the track itself. Safety? Well, we put a small straw bale here and there. What? You want more?!! People wandering on the track during the race with cars passing at full speed. Mechanics working on cars with others racing by no more than few feet away. Quite amazing. Love the commentary, too.
Is it just me or does that video have glimpses of the hybrid era...
At 6min 07sec, you can clearly see a Renault powered Newey car running no wing , and a Honda Powered Mclaren running extra wing
I wonder if Mclaren claimed to have the best chassis back then and if Newey was moaning about being underpowered
