Interesting from Vettel - he locked up but the rear end was unstable very early in the braking zone. That’s what led to the lockup. Maybe the balance not quite right.

Hamilton very close by end of S2, but lost 1.6-1.8 tenths in the last sector. (Vettel had a small mistake in S3 too)

Edit: closer on the second attempt, but had some traffic that maybe cost some.

It does seem though Ferrari are gonna be hard to beat in a straight fight.

Gonna be very interesting to see QF. Bottas really struggling... :/
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Also Ferrari did only 4 laps on their qualy sim, Mercs did 6. So maybe had 2 extra laps of fuel. 0.081 is less time than carrying 2 laps of fuel. So still no wiser as to who will be on pole.

Mercedes getting slaughtered on the straights of the third sector. Losing 1.6 tenths. I cannot see them winning this without misfortune for Ferrari.

Giving slipstream for Ham.
This is a $hitshow: Merc is so far away from Fer, that the only chance they see is Bot giving Ham slipstream to split the Ferraris. Merc is so far away from anyone else, that Bot does not even bother to do a normal FP3 but just practice slipstream for Ham.
Fer is not going for an extra run on fresh SS, but beat Ham with new tires and slipstream.
RedBull somewhere 1sec of everyone above and below...

Haas vs. the pink ones is the interesting battle of the weekend.

About Bottas being used to slipstream - is that true and any factual basis for that or are you guys just being provokative? Genuine question. I am watching RAI so apart from the footage, i have little clue what they are talking.

Well both last laps (fast ones) he was in front of Hamilton. And I think that's why Ham got purple S1 in his last run
