Quite visibly, the acceleration of this Ferrari is better. So, they still seem to have that advantage, nothing changed. I'm not even talking about top speed, which also depends much on DF, but the second phase of the acceleration.MtthsMlw wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 12:38Safe to say that the Ferrari is still mighty on the straights and Vettel lost Pole in the last corner. He is 3 tenths up before the S-Curves.

That and there are some fresh rumours about a new engine mode called K1 Plus Ferrari is using. So far there was only K1 and K2.LM10 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 13:32Quite visibly, the acceleration of this Ferrari is better. So, they still seem to have that advantage, nothing changed. Mercedes is running more wing.
Holy moly Lewis & Kimi took turn 3-5 flatout. Man this year's cars are crazy. Bottas is a loser, having to lift through turn 5.Juzh wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 10:55some laps

Probably this. Ham was significantly faster at S's.Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 14:01Mercedes is running more wing.
I’d say, with the very limited amount of long simulation runs, both teams have opted for slightly different strategies. Knowing that the race is gonna be held in warmer conditions, Mercedes are visibly running more wing. I expect Ferrari to be running aggressive, because they must and have nothing to lose.
Fully agree. If Ferrari had a power advantage like that they would have been a second a lap faster than the merc in monza.Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 14:01Mercedes is running more wing.

More wing would make them lose top speed, which happened, but not make them significantly slower in the second phase of acceleration (like from 150 to 250).Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 14:01Mercedes is running more wing.

Watch the side by sides! Lewis royally screwed up turn 20 before his flying lap and was thus very slow down the front strait. he missed the Apex at turn 1, he went way to wide at turn 9, and messed up the exit at turn 20.LM10 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 15:38Like what?NathanOlder wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 14:59Fully agree.
