Vettel vs hamilton q3 lap

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqY6CGR9b5c
Nice job.

Up until T11 - the end of the back straight - Vettel looks to be a tad ahead. Hamilton briefly nudges ahead thru 12-13-14, but Vettel reels him in at the exit. Hamilton is back ahead in the last sector and slowly pulls clear, but it doesn't look like much. Not certainly like 3+ tenths (or maybe that's exactly what 3 tenths look like) .
Here's something that always amazes me.

Snap your fingers right now.

There you have the difference between P1 and P3 today, over the course of that long lap.

so anyone expecting Bottas to be gifted the win, if he is 2nd after the final pitstops?
Do you really think Bottas would accept such a gifted victory? How awkward would that even be?
I dont know, but Merc and Lewis did say that they will give one back to Bottas after the russian GP

Does anybody know if they did anything about that large curb (I believe it was about turn 19 or 20). Sorry, I'm new here and not as well versed as you veterans. I'm referring to the curb that appeared to be disintegrating each time a car went over it, with pieces of what appeared to be concrete flying all over the place. I would think it's a potential safety issue if it has not already been rectified. It would be a shame to see someone's race ruined over it.

Difference is 7,5 frames, so exactly 0,3s.

Hey Juzh, do you have the footage of the pole lap and of the last run by VET, obviously with telemetry?

Probably meant that if it were a similar position where Lewis was held up there would be no orders, or if Bottas was being held up they'd ask Lewis to move or something like that.

Bottas explicitly stated though that he doesn't want anything given on a platter so that would naturally override anything Merc wants to do for him in that regard.

Juzh, I really appreciate all the work you always put into your videos, thanks! Once again you gave us a nice comparison video. However, I feel they are not 100% synchronized. You will notice at 6 seconds into the video, Vettel crosses the start/finish line prior to Hamilton. This is why the gap looks (ever so slightly) smaller between the two than it actually is.

EDIT: Another thing I noticed, Hamilton takes a much wider entry at the final corner before beginning his lap, at a much lower apex speed. It looked like Vettel gained on him, I am not sure why he slowed down that much? Opinions. Am I missing something?

Seems close enough

1 frame is 0.04s which could be half a car lenthg at 200+ kmh.

Welcome, I can't answer your question with any certainty though. However I guess nothing will be done about the kerb or the drivers will immediately begin taking advantage and going off track to gain speed.

Ricciardo has a great chance for a podium today (provided his car holds out).
Track temperature is a high 39 degrees, the track is also dusty; so Max's hypers should fry pretty quickly. All others around are on ultras, although the Ferrari's showed poor tyre deg which should give Ric a solid chance if Max drops down the pack.

Let's see what the first few laps bring though.

My race prediction for the first five?

1. Lewis/Bottas
2. Bottas/Lewis
3. Ricciardo
4. Vettel
5. Kimi

They upload without telemetry every time now. Juzh is the hero F1 needs, but doesn't deserve.
