No. He means NFL hand egg type.

Unless you put NFL and Rugby as the same sport.

@ESPImperium

God I hate that TUI girl! Can't sing, looks so arrogant! I'd avoid TUI because of her and those adverts alone. On the subject of adverts, love the new money supermarket advert with the action men!
Yup, Handegg is NFL, Rugby is a different sport as it allows you to run with the ball in your hand from any position and not be passed backward to a QB and then forward to a running back. Rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen, and football is a gentlemans game played by thugs. Or thats what it i was briefly told once upon a time.

The new ad i like is the Ovo one with Slayer 'Raining Blood' in the background. Get my headbangin' on!!!

I can understand why FOM went for their own music, it means they own the rights to it, where as if they went with a music artist they would have to negotiate a licence, a contract where they pay them a retainer every year. Id say that most artists management would be wanting $2.1m a year ($100,000 per race) and Im sure that paying for a commissioned piece of music is cheaper. Im also sure that if a artist was involved, they would also want their music marketed on F1 programming and a headline slot at F1 Rocks. The F1 Rocks is easier to organise, the music advertising may be harder, especially in some countries F1 goes to where music lyrics of those sort may be classed as blasphemy or heresy.

This music, and the new intro sequence, will last for the next 3 years. I did like the new post intro sequence factoids, but that music needs to be mixed -1.2dB less in the broadcast as i felt as if Crofty was competing with it, he could compete with it as he is nice and loud and he is used to the volume as he goes to rock/metal gigs, lesser broadcasters may not compete with the volumes. The only thing id have liked to have seen is all the drivers be used on the intro VT Package, not just the top 10 drivers, use all the drivers please.

Yeah, I have heard that a hundred times. Maybe that was the case 20 years ago. certainly not now, Iv'e seen many a Rugby player behaving like animals on the pitch, far far worse than what you see from football (proper football) players.

the first video on youtube of many many many of Rugby players behaving like animals, the complete opposite to "gentleman" as the saying goes.

Now the season is over, what is the opinions on the theme music???

I have shifted my opinion, its a great tune to get the adrenaline going pre race, and i think it has done its job in making F1 more movie like.

Now the season is over I can honestly say that I hate everything that Liberty has done to F1. From the cheesy theme music to the new font to the sci-fi comms blip before every communication to the 'La Tigra' faces they make drivers pull for photos, it's all ---. It's basically Hunger Games meets F1

The other thing about this is that it's now just like the TV broadcast of almost all other major sports. Previously F1's broadcast was unique in its low fuss minimalism but now it's the same, but the contestants are driving a car instead of chasing a ball/puck. Which is especially important because many people like F1 because it's not a ball sport and doesn't have the image that comes with those kind of sports.

Yep, it wasn't broken, but it wasn't targeted to the lowest common denominator, so 'let's fix it!'
Right about now is the perfect time for a breakaway series, funded by a drivers consortium headed by Lewis

I don't think I'd say I hate all of what Liberty have done, but I'm struggling to think of things I like about any changes they have made.

Isn't that the modern conundrum? "I don't hate it, but I don't like it either".
Seems to me like it's change for the sake of change..?

Probably off-topic: If Liberty wants F1 to sound like the NFL, it should also get the FIA to enforce the rules like the NFL. Out of bounds means out of bounds. No wishy-washy discussion about whether anyone supposedly gained an advantage.

Due in most part to the modern usage of "Hate".
It seems to have replaced "not my favorite" or even "slightly less than neutral feelings"

Now that I have heard it for a whole season, I have to admit I find it pretty annoying. It's got this fake epic sound to it which is so cheesy ](*,) I hate it every time I hear that goddman piece of music

Same. It has this weird 'get ready for excitement, dudes!' to this, even though there is like 5-10 minutes in between the intro and the actual start of the race. What makes it weirder is that they use this same audio track at the end of the race, which makes no sense at all. It's an audio track that belongs in a movie, not a sporting event.
