Scuderia Toro Rosso STR14

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Packaging and cooling very reminiscent of RB14.

When we think that they will use same back this season with main team, maybe we will see same sidepod air inlet at Redbull.

Red Bull will push the aero much more extreme than STR, they are the B team after all, no point in giving them an equal aero package.

:?: Toro Rosso design their own aero... Red Bull are supplying non-listed components but that does not include aero.

I’m 100% sure if they could race with 4 identical cars, they would.

Didn't they do that in 2009 and years prior to that? I'm fairly RB and TR cars were the same back then except for the engine.

The RB solutions are proven, they could easily copy, yet this car looks as if they skimped on the use of surface area in key places.

It's not the car... it's not even test spec let alone Melbourne spec - it's the art department trying to not give anything away. The sidepod inlets are Red Bull like from last year, but "copying" will never replicate another team's performance.

Previous to the listed parts rule.

The sidepods dip very aggressively, inlet straight out of Red Bull.
Before we see the big boys looks like a neat car, except for that FW, but i don't know the possibilities yet.

I already miss the more intricate endplates....
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It looks like the airbox vents straight through to the back of the car. I have not seen this before. Is it "standard" practice?

reducing pressure build up perhaps?
