Seems like they want to use the front wing almost exclusively for downforce, rather than controlling front tyre wake.

I disagree, they want to induce some outwash by angling the winglets towards the exterior... and by removing that chunk, the air travels more freely toward the outer face of the wheel. It's similar to STR and Renault but much more extreme.

At first glance it seems that Sauber tried to make the lower part of the engine cover as slim as possible while making the part behind the engine intake quite bulky. It would be interesting to see how that will work against the Ferrari or the Haas interpretation...
Agreed, can't spot any engine cover fin. The transition form one side to other is smooth, without any sharp edges on top of engine cover. Looks bad for CoG, but maybe it's just for lightweight cooling ducts...interesting

As it has been mentioned, incredible front wing, it looks fragile though.

It looks more like they are still baking some wing parts. If F1 design trough the years shown us anything, is that you put up some kind of deflector/wing/anything at any point on the car where it's allowed.

Ok guys... you know what?

Maybe - i wrote maybe! - that void will be filled with some special shaped flow conditioner from monday on...
something they choosed to not reveal today.

In fact, i am very suspicious about the simplicity of the wings seen up to now.
I expect everyone to reveal something much more advanced in that particular area.

Wheelbase looks to be quite short compared to what we’ve seen so far.

Wouldn't they just stick a standard 2019 wing on it, so people dont even talk about it.

I'm not so sure, though. Considering the connection that seems to be in place and how front wings are built it would be much more likely that the adjustable flap would be missing.

Fair point.

Very interesting in both cases!
