Mercedes: Don't read too much into lap times
We're not sure we've ever had much testing insight from Instagram stories, but Mercedes' answers in a Q&A 'Ask Us Anything' last night were rather interesting.

When asked when they would be unleashing the W10's full potential, the team said: 'In Quali on Saturday in Melbourne when it counts.'

They added: 'Our focus in testing is on maximising laps and working through our programme. Don't read too much into lap times.'

Makes me happy to see how easy and driveable the car appears. Of all the drivers I am most excited about Leclerc, even though I also want to see RK and KR do well.

BTW, where are they now? What's happening? Why no one talks about it?

Funny how all the drama was about Mcalren not running in the first 2 hours, but nobody mentioned that RBR were missing for a long time but they are now back on track

So... Kimi posted a 17.7 on C4 tires. Yikes!

A few interesting comments from Horner;
"We drove the first two days with a Montreal rear wing. Therefore, it was difficult to balance the car." New wing for today.

"The engine is incredibly soft and even when downshifting does not have these dropouts like the Renault. So the rear is much more stable when it turns into the corners and at the same time downshifts." Lets wait and see how long the honeymoon lasts :lol:

That is nearly a full second faster than what Sauber could do in qualifying in 2018 :o

Remember that Pirelli said that the tarmac got faster since 2018... But still impressive. And i'm not sure this was even full power and a low fuel run...

Yep, it's not enabled.
