The new toyota.

Post

Ah yes. Felipe is finally back after a long well desrved vacation. now its back to my beloved forum. Ok i think i have finally figured out how to beat Tomba with the many messeges. Heres a hint: i need to find a lot of spare time.

Now its time to talk about the new toyota. I have just finished watching the final qualifying, and it FINALLY looks like they are heading the right direction. Look at the new look. (i still cant firure out how to post those damn pictures on this forum.)

as you can see there has been loads of work done on the side pod. it's a little reminescent of the williams side pods. its also a lot slimmer. Toyota has finally taken out this little messed up chimmeny. I really dont know what it is called but look at the this old pic and compare.

take aloo at that travelex thing next to the rear wheel. I bet that caused so much drag i didnt even know why it was there. Plus that side pod was so fat. im glad it went on a diet. Ok i was wrong the side pod looks like the original ferrari GA. toyota is a ferrari but with other colors. Oh well if they want to win thats the way they should go. especially for a new team. I only wish minardi and jordan also completely copied a top teams design. i know jordan really like that twin keel, but its time to drop that idea until its completely developed by some other team that likes the idea. then thell see if the twin keel works or not.

hey welcome back man!
First of all... no problem if you'd like to beat my posts, it would only mean this forum is working quite well.

anyway, the toyota, idd a big enhancement in my opinion. I always though that rear part just in front of the rear wheels was one of the worst in the circuit. Although still there's Minardi, a team which I still don't understand a sh*tty thing of, those flap-ups are oh so steep... drag people, that's drag
Anyways, looks a lot better at Toyota. the sidepods from the chimney on seem to be rounded like the ones on the R23. Wait for tomorrow's qual, Toyota have been fast in first qual several times :)

First of all....I'm also trying to figure out how to post more messages then Tomba....but it's an uneven battle!!! Since he'se the owner of the site he can (and might one day) do slight corrections to our post numbers!!! if you know what I mean.... lololo just kidding Tomba.....

Well.....the rear of the car....especially in the coke bottle area has really been hanpered...it is a Ferrari....! lol....and it's the same thing with the rest of the car....!!!!so no point in saying anything about this! lol

About the Travellex thing.....I can see it working in 2 ways....depending on one thing....did it have a same opening inside the spoonish flip-up....that thing if it had an opening worked as a low pressure creature that sucked air from the side pod......iand canalizes the air over the rear tire.......

The other way I see it....is...if it didn't have an opening it work as a low pressure generater...like you know air tends to go from high pressures to low pressures.....so in this case air would move from underneth the flip-up and would be deviated over the rear tire....in either cas the main objective if to deviated air over the rear tire....

PS- in either of the possibilities.....the first one creates a small amout of downforce but has a slightly bigger drag......in the second case....drag is reduced, but there is a slight lift efect.....
