Personally, what id have done with Hamilton was let him keep the race win, but make him start from 22nd at Monza, excluding him from Quali.

To me that would have been fair, but i still think people would have been waxing lyrical about the fairness point.

Im not a Hamilton fan, im someone who dislikes Hamilton, but i feel that the result should have stood, but something should have carried on to Monza for him, either the 22nd place grid slot or a 10 place grid drop for him, like what he encurred at france this year from the incident that happened at Montreal.

Well, I just wanted to clarify that I'm not pacifist and that it took me a while to look for successes of pacifism: it's like finding "three good reasons to go back to school" or the "ten most happy moments of your marriage"... you cannot avoid to smile a little while you make the list. Nonetheless, it exists. It hurts to single out acceptable things for it, among so many failures, but they exist.

Back to thread, I'm glad we have a strong petition against "a decision that has been made to be wrong". I'm sure that these kind of wrong decissions should be pretty much eliminated any minute now.

I just read BBC's commentaries about the race incident. I'm starting to understand briton enragement. It's not like McLaren has some karma to pay, because of past wrong actions on its part, isn't it?

My wife really hit the nail on the head when I asked her about her opinion. To borrow Dave Barry, the conversation went like this:

ME: Darling, do you know...

MY WIFE: In the drawer, under the kitchen phone.

ME: Oh, thanks, and...

MY WIFE (typing): The pink socks. She has guitar class today.

So, I conclude that what was wrong this morning at 8 am (Colombia Standart Time, half an hour late, btw) is that the stewards are not properly qualified to judge the race. Actually, I wonder if FIA stewards are qualified to tie their own laces.

It's easy to know what it takes to be qualified. I'm surprised it's not mentioned in the petition. To be qualified as a good steward you have to be my wife.

I think the decision was technically correct, not like Massa's win is a decent ending to such a race, but dura lex, sed lex.

As one guy on Ukrainian f1 forum said, if Lewis was penalized for gaining an unfair advantage cutting the chicane, then Massa gained an unfair (undeserved) advantage from Lewis' penalty and hence should be handed a 25 second penalty as well... etc.
