I'm not sure what they are doing, but Merc still isn't showing their true pace even in their race sims.

The first and second stints only showed about ~1 second of degradation when you ignore the outliers. The last stint is really weird as is gets substantially faster towards the end.

Surely they are playing with engine mods.... going low modes in the first part and then gradually changing to higher setting when the stint ends...this would putt off all the other team's and our analysis....but they know the time delta each mod gives and they can adjust the stint laptimes. This is just a speculation from my side...a perfect way to hide your pace.

I think the top 3 teams are hiding pace but its just how much pace each team is hiding is the real question and we wont know that until Melbourne I dont think.

If Leclerc is 5 seconds ahead of Bottas then the Mercedes is faster than the Ferrari

It looks like he's pulled his car to the side of the track, so that screams reliability issue to us.

Now remember what Toto told the media last week about their car and pace. You can expect the merc to be on par with the ferrari. And RedBull (again) a tiny bit behind them.

So that's 182 laps for Mercedes. It wasn't that long ago knocking out 100 laps was considered a lot. before we know it some teams will be surpassing 200 laps a day!
