Wow! You can actually hear the wheel explode as well as see a plume of substance jet away from the wheel.
It's almost certainly a manufacturing quality control issue.

Ferrari has been running the Merc style cooling wheel. Its possible that they might not quite have the hang of making them robust yet.

They don't run them on the front tyres. I think no team does.

Race sim comparison between W10 and RB15 (although it was abrupt).

- Average of first 14 laps on C3 for RB15 was 1m24.333
- There was a drop of 2 seconds within 14 laps for that stint for RB15. An average drop of 0.142 of a second per lap.
- Average of first 14 laps on C3 for W10 was 1m23.618.
- There was a drop of 1.5 seconds within 14 laps for that stint for W10. An average drop of 0.107 of a second per lap.

- Average of first stint for W10 (18 laps) was 1m23.817
- There was a drop of 2 seconds for the full first stint for W10, with 20 laps. An average drop of 0.100 of a second per lap.

Across the first stint of 14 laps, RB15 was slower by an average of half a second on the same compound against W10.
While there is only a drop in time for RB15, lap after lap (except for one lap), W10 keeps coming coming down on lap time often through the stint.

You should not compare to Gasly. He's obviously out of sorts yet for Red Bull.

Oh, I'd assumed all teams would run them this season as a way to circumvent the rule against wheel blowing.

But thats a different day , different wind, different temp, different track rubber levels. Yesterday Merc and RedBull were doing their race Sim at the same time on the same day.

Wouldn't be worried abt that too much.Other's were doing stints at same time. You may also argue about Gasly's inexperience with the car. Will see today anyways...

Some characteristics stay the same from gen to gen. This guy changed the teams (and frankly I'm not too convinced about his abilities either).
Which even more shows that Leclerc threatens to become massive driver.

I am not sure if they are race sim. They are usual stints of testing. A race sim involves no break in between stints and involves only tyre changes. What ferrari did yesterday, is not an ideal race stint as you don't do a race on single type of tyre. You count the laps from the times you have posted and its only 37 laps.
