I think the fact that STR can (seems to) keep up with the Ferrari B teams, and the Renault engined teams actually bodes very well for RBR itself. The STR14 has the rear body work of last years RB and this years RB took that to another level.

That also may be good news for the Honda PU too :)

Nice demonstration of physic:

- the car is hold only by the tires
- kinetic energy, inertia, velocity vector...

Why you say that? I think that it will be more than .3 between STR and RBR :wtf:

I'm a little disappointed.
I hoped they had a better race pace.
In 1 lap it is difficult to overcome Ferrari or Mercedes. But in long races we are not good

F1today is reporting gearbox problems as the reason why they have ran so little today.

It is supposed to be the same gearbox that TR uses. But only RB has so many problems. Sad

Well, they did have to built up a whole new car overnight, might be aligning software on car etc. etc.

Because TR is as fast as last year's car, and Marko claims they're ahead of Mercedes which means they're behind. The gap to Ferrari is likely .6, if Ferrari can do a 15.7, then RBR can probably do a 16.4 16.3 on a good day. The long runs are also dissapointing.

Couldn't they replace the gearbox with a new unit and continue investigating the issue on the old one while it is out of the car?

I hope you're not right... Anyway, maybe the aero upgrades planed for Melbourne help with closing some of the gap they have...

Maybe they don't have one available. This is the last day, all parts are in short supply right now.

The Gasly mistake is a huge one.

building it in and out takes quite some time. or maybe it is actually an engine issue and they want to conceal that. But that is just the (long past teen age) angst speaking in me.
