I am so ready to see another Hamilton special pole lap. He's pretty handy around here.

Talk about a point being handed out for fastest lap. Might be an interesting development in the championship race.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

That would be great. Saturday performance should have some bearing on the championship. I would vote for it.

Point is for fastest lap on sunday, not pole position on saturday, that would be absurd and people could win championships on saturday if only 1 point was needed.

Nah I am against the fastest lap point. What we have is fine. Can't wait for the season to start. I am calling for a Ferrari pole.

Liberty cannot stop messing with things that are fine as they are, can they?

This begs a thread for discussion. :) I think this may actually create an interesting spice and dynamic to strategy ESPECIALLY for the mid field. In todayu's F1 pole is reward enough but I'd support a point being given out for that as well.

Fastest lap in race is often for someone who is out of contention in said race anyway (f.e. By driving poorly in a top car) they then wait for low fuel, save up ERS for 3 laps and pit for frush ultra’s et voila, 1 WDC point.

I hope it will not get introduced.

Can't wait to see what the mid pack are like. Hopefully nothing between them. Could make for a great season.

Agreed. We'll see the midfield pitting with a few laps remaining, sticking on a fresh set of tyres and trying to banzai a single lap. For some drivers/teams it might be the only chance they have of a point. Of course, it'll also likely cause chaos and potentially change race outcomes at the front too.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Yep, someone going for a fast lap will crash out, and rob fans of a good finish. Should we take bets on why the first driver to crash out will be?
