As much as some of us joked about Charlie being Bernie's ex-spanner man, it was a tough job he did. We're about to find out how tough as other people attempt to fill his shoes. There hasn't been as much of a handover as there should have been.
Whoever follows is going to have sixteen tons of something dropped on top of them.

Proper gent and really well respected by all accounts. Those who pilloried him publicly over safety improvements like the halo melted away, as it's appearance was soon forgotten and the accident in Spa last year really proved its worth.
I never could believe how many roles he took on at the FIA and how much work it generated, the guys brought in for succession planning left to go to Renault and Ferrari... the definition of irreplaceable! RIP Charlie
