Ferrari's second laps on the same soft sets were not impressive at all.
Hamilton tried the same and set pretty much equal times.
Can you clarify this a bit?
I think he means the yellow walled medium (old soft), on which they lost ~1s on their second lap in the same run. But they also had a detuned engine on the second run, so not all is down to tires.
No, it was on the red walled tyres.

Detuned engine, possibly, but I didn't know...

The Sky commentary is just so poor, particularly Martin Brundle and all that split screen nonsense that distracts even when important things are going on on track..
Its all click bait rubbish, even in FP that is watched by only hardcore F1 fans.
Literally vomit inducing. Just mute them and watch on FX audio.

Vettel left some tenths on the table in the last corner on his second hot lap, so i'd say they do have some pace on this track. Hopefully merc isn't sandbagging too much.
Thanks, please whats FX Audio?
Anything to escape this torture is a most welcome.

I mean if you watch on f1tv you can select FX audio track to mute the commentators. If you're on sky then I wouldn't know.

Ok, Thanks. Unfortunately, the UK is stuck with Sky. :(

Merc just 2 tenths quicker than Hulkenberg ? Hmm..

OK. First off, Ferrari seems to be back. Over the long runs, Mercedes on an average is around 2 tenths quicker than Ferrari. So, it's game on between the two. Things doesn't look good for RB.

Was he running the higher DF version setup?
I think they had engine problems, because he did a second lap to check if they could fix it from the box and at the start of his longrun he specifically asked if the battery is OK now. During race sim they also had alot of fail X, fail Y. I think 3 times. Looking at the top speed tables there is plenty to come from him tomorrow if they can sort this out.

RB probably had the best long run pace, definitely more consistent than either Merc or Ferrari.

Ferrari seems to be in prime position for pole position.

Do you have the data for the long runs?
