We all know that "vibrations from flatspots" is a bullshit excuse for him going over 1:55 ...

Just small observation.

The pole lap from Charles if you watch the steering wheel he starts the lap at 92% of charge.
At lap finish 21% of charge left.

Now here is Gasly lap.

watch the state of charge.
RBR at finish line is completely depleted.

It seems Honda's recovery mode is not on par with Ferrari.

Calm down folks. Merc will release the kraken come Quali. They have not used engine modes that Ferrari and Renault have used. I think Bottas can get the pole.
I guess you were wrong on both counts.
Ferrari won, Bottas lost to Hamilton. And as a cherry on top Vettel lost too, which is great news.

Bring refuelling back. That would change everything around strategies for the good
as i told once .... no way ... and if you would use google it shows you WHY, refuelling is bad for F1
just read this article and look at the graphic a bit below

https://www.motorlat.com/notas/f1/5752/ ... eling-back

... overtaking went down drasticly as they introduced refueling and went up as they banned refuelling, secondly it's more expensive, so smaller teams are really going to struggle with they're money, third, it's dangerous for EVERYBODY in the pit.

these points i did out of my head and there are several other reasons WHY NOT to bring back refueling

the only thing that could make F1 interesting again if they do something about the tyres and even that will not bring the effect everybody hopes for....
You're (that article is) wrong for a couple of reasons.
First of all overtaking was not the issue discussed here, but different strategies available. Refueling adds to more exciting different strategies. Basic fact.
Second, the reduction of overtaking is not to be blamed on refueling, but other car regulations of the day like wings, tracks, car size, etc.
Thirdly, the accidents of refueling were very minor. The accidents caused by super fast pitstops for tire change have already been as dangerous if not more and far more frequent. And a lot of ruined races along with this.
This has been analyzed before in other threads, feel free to look around.

If the F1 official analysis is correct and Merc have .5s race pace advantage it should be an interesting race.

HAM for the win...
Can you link that F1 official analysis please?

Beg to differ. Hamilton on his worst track was few hundredths of Vettel not more than half a second. Kudos to Charles though he delivered. A trend is merging early on with teams struggling to understand the tyre setup. Race is another matter. I can see the midfield car on mediums blowing past the top 10 teams.

Hey man, that still doesn't make what you guessed earlier factually correct.
You said Mercedes would beat Ferrari and Bottas would beat Hamilton.
I dislike Ferrari and Vettel, but I just was poking a bit of fun on you mate, no offense meant.
