P6, fantastic result, and brilliant recovery drive from 15th. Got to wonder what could have been for Sainz! Not too far off 4th I'd imagine.

Impressed by how we kept the alfa behind with the drs disadvantage. Such a relief to see after being sitting ducks for over 3 years.

Looking good for the traction circuits this year. China will bring something different.

Yes, there is a lot of biased and thoughtless fanboy comments in here now.
I wouldn't commit to third fastest car as Norris wasn't able to push later in the race as he was in the start of the race, so I think he used his allotted pushing early on (Fuel). But definitely at least 4th fastest in this race.

But still, only one car finished and the car can very easily not work in China, so there is a lot to do. The only thing that matters is points on the board and we don't have too many yet for a car that maybe a midfield leading car. Things change, others develop and you have to take your points whilst you can or you lose your chance.

I agree. He also made a mistake at the start.... He was clearly in 3rd spot after a rocket start but let Max re-pass him. Not his best race

I believe after today there are no denials that Mclaren is at least faster than the Rest and very close to Red Bull.

I still think that sainz is faster than norris about 3 tenths per lap he just need a clean race

the car it was 3rd best out there and we loose podium finish after all from max move ....with only one fresh set of M tires and used softs and hard ...compare to others it was tricky good result after opening lap ..but the car it was clearly faster of all ..exept mercedes and ferrari ..in the bad scenario ....bottas pace it was not special ...5-6sec in front of red bull and i am sure mclaren it was faster from them ......ok good points result at the end ...lets push for china to be closer and with better result ....

Just and no more! Got to keep the developments coming, it's so tight in that pack. China is a different circuit again, fingers crossed that doesn't shuffle it too much!

I would actually agree with this. Massive improvement and I'd confidently say, as much as you can after two races, McLaren are definitely 4th at the moment. Thumping the midfield.
