Of course.

I'm sure he should have been fighting with MAG and SAI easily

That's almost incredible... Hulks sounded like an ICE failure. The whole rotational assembly let go and seized. Minimal smoke, just threw sparks out the back, but Ricciardo was a total electrical failure?

MGU-K according to Ricciardo in an interview

What a shame...

Pace in race is OK, not so far from RB, fighting with McLaren

Renault so far is in shambles.
We had renault engine failure in race 1.
Now 2 engine failures in race 2.

Renault will have to turn down all the engines for the rest of the season as it seems they are running them way too hard currently.
To have the fastest unreliable engine is 1 thing. But to have the slowest or close to slowest with the worst reliability is next level failure!

They failed in Hulk qualifying with software issues..
Then in the race they picked the worst strategy for Ric keeping him out way too long instead. No other team tried this strategy just Renault decided it might work. Yet all the data showed it would not. Renault strategist the worst on the grid so far.
Renault is in shambles so far. Their customer Mclaren has produced a much better chassis as well. Renault is struggling everywhere. They need some serious changes at the top to how Renault is being run. Cyril has failed big time so far

What did you mean by this? Ah, you meant the pace car engine was actually the slowest! I got it...

What we have seen is Renault having issues with MGU-k and also Ferrari had 'some' issue in Australia and then again on LeClerc's car in Bahrain, Mclaren reported that Sainz's car had a gerbox issue that would have stopped him as well. But the pace in the car was good and i think Hulk would have qualified higher than Ricc. Yes reliability is bad. But id rather be quick and then we need to make the car reliable, than slow and steady and cruising round at the back

He likes to criticize Renault

Engine is powerful, issues are on the MGU K since too long. Setting power down will not change anything, they have to fix their MGU issues.

Overall this is a very bad start for 2019, and once again, they should change things:

- Engine is more powerful, that's a good point, but MGU issues are a nightmare
- Ricciardo is very slow for now
- Car barely is the 4 ranking car in race, and further in qualy

Many work to do ahead of them...

I wonder if they weren't running the same mitigations that Mclaren put in place after Sainz's failure?

Or a mapping issue with one of the settings, given they were both in the same mode at the same corner...

Agree with that...

To be more optimistic: Engine is new, power is finally here, I think they are closer than ever, so now they have to have reliability.

I'm more concerned about chassis. In Barhain it was better, but they have to make progress

Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul has criticised the "increasingly frustrating and unacceptable" engine problems that have blighted their start to the new season.

Drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo retired at the same time with different issues three laps from the end of Sunday's race in Bahrain.

Both were set for points despite also having engine problems in qualifying.

"After a very intense winter, it has been a very bad start," Abiteboul said.

So... For once not finding excuses.

But what did he proposed then?
Maybe he is the problem.

Renault is fighting for P4 this year. That was 2018 goal.

In 2019 they should be fighting with Red Bull when possible and rest of the time be clear P4

Even with reliability it will not be the case, so many work to do again on the chassis.

I'm curious to see if this year they will bring good updates, both on chassis and engine because it was a weak point in both domains last year

as writen in the article, they're MGU-K is a problem since the start of 2017, and it still hasn't been fixed, i wonder what they do at Renault.
knowing your weakpoint but aren't able to fix it .... that's bad
