I know it sounds a bit strange but this is the Position McLaren would be also last year without their design-problem, so for me it's not a surprise and I enjoy it very much. They are cleary on the hunt for constructors P4, but that should not be the end of their Journey.

Guys, what should we expect from China?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

In training in China will be visible. I am very concerned about the reliability of the Renault motors.

I still feel it’s Verstappen’s fault. Just look at the speed of the crash. He completely slammed Sainz. Verstappen never gives his space up, so it might have been wiser to give him more space, but I certainly wouldn’t have called it a mistake by Sainz.

Well, Norris said they are good on the straights and less in the corners, so that should give you an idea with the even longer straights in China.

Lando on radio complaining about a brake problem towards the end. Maybe that's why Kimi was on his tail for so long.

Planet F1 Driver Ratings...
Lando Norris: The last time a McLaren finished in P6 or better was when Alonso managed a P5 place right at the start of the 2018 season in Australia. There is no denying that Norris drove like a future champion.

Scrapping brilliantly with the rest of the midfield and being ruthlessly concise with his overtaking manoeuvres he demonstrated that the Papaya car really does have pace.

The second half of the race kicked off the battle for the ages, literally. Kimi Raikkonen, the oldest man on track and twice Lando’s age was desperate to get past the rookie, but to no avail. Norris drove brilliantly, demonstrating that he is a talent to look out for. 9/10
Well done Lando... I give him 10/10... =D> =D>

For now, I've seen a quick McLaren on two tracks

I think it can clearly still fight for P4 with other teams.
I'd also like very much to see a McLaren overtake an RBR :D

Good stuff from McLaren, after all those year, I have the feeling that they are on the redemption path, and now Key is arriving =D>

It will take time, but they will come back where they belong in the top teams

Guys, obviously Renault have again MGU-K problems, Carlos had issues in Melbourne, now Ricciardo in Bahrain. I believe Carlos mentioned something about taking certain steps to resolve the issues. Would those steps be done by McLaren directly or Renault themselves? Because if it's by Renault, from what happened to Ricciardo yesterday, it's not been fixed.

Championship P4 is almost conservative now! McLaren has both qualy and race pace. Haas is fast in qualy but nowhere in the race, and Renault is the opposite.

Gasly in the second RB is a complete waste of a car. As long as he struggles to keep up with the Toro Rossos, and as long as RB continues to insert him into the second RB, then McLaren has every chance of beating RB for third in constructors.

Yes early days, only 2 of 21 races done.

Definitely Verstappen's fault. He's na nasty little boy. I'm sure he had a "phew" moment when he didn't get a penalty.

But also 5 low speed corners out of 16 which may well be where we have difficulty.
