2019 F1 In-Season Testing Thread

So with Bahrain in-season testing starting tomorrow, I thought I'd create this thread.
Here's the driver line-up for the two-day test

It will be interesting to see if the test drivers can put a finger on or around some of the issues/minutia that the race drivers are running into. Hard to say that any team besides Mercedes has a nearly airtight operational procedure, or isn't lacking in some other aspect of race preparation/execution.

Don't teams have any Inters? Wouldn't this be a good opportunity to gather some data in wet conditions?

I think they did not expect (so much) rain in Bahrain. From my perspective it would have been burning money to bring enough inters for testing to Bahrain, if you had asked me bevore the test. I am wrong now but no one could expect this.

Here's what he said

“It’s a step forward in every aspect of the car. I think the car has more grip, the car is less draggy on the straights, and the engine is a bigger step better as well,” Alonso said.

“Overall, as a package, I think the car is on the right direction.

“Obviously we saw in the first two races there is still another step to do if you want to compete with the top three teams, but as a first step I think, hopefully consolidate as the fourth [fastest] team or lead the midfield together with Haas.

“That’s the target. I felt that on the car as well.”
