Why are Mercedes drivers heaping praise on Ferrari drivers?
+ Bottas names Vettel as biggest threat to Mercedes

+ Hamilton says Leclerc reminds him of his own debut season in Formula 1

They haven't executed dominant wins...yet 8)

Both sentences are true. Stop calling every single word from Mercedes side a mind game. Other teams also praise each other.

What an unnecessary crap of a thread.

They're walking with their sixth championship. They'll speak of challenges the whole time. They'll win with the smallest margins they can muster. Aptly named thread.

What would be the reaction from the public if they turned up and said to the other teams, 'Don't waste your time, we have it stitched up, go home you are going to get smashed'

It Worked for Mohamed Ali, but most anyone else is going to get rough treatment from the press and fans.

Not acknowledging others as equals is a sign of complacency , something you really don't need in a sport.

Although, thinking of it, it would be funny if they already tell the field not to bother, requesting the FIA to just hand out the trophies to them .

Because they know they will beat them, and beating a great driver provide a lot more pride than beating an average, so praising Ferrari drivers they´re saying "look how good we are we can beat these awesome drivers"
