Pierre Gasly will start the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from the pit lane after failing to stop at the weigh bridge during second practice.

One Red Bull out of the way... :D :D Pity it's not Mad Max...

Where do you think the car stands at this point? Considering the Big Upgrade might be coming in Spain along with the Engine will we be able to clear the midfield?
I guess it’s all relative to how the rest of the midfield develop. Of all the other teams, I think Renault is the one who could/will make the biggest jump in performance with their resources.

I just hope McLaren continue on the right path- they certainly addressed many of last years issues.

Will James Key have a hand in any of the later season updates or will he be solely dealing with the 2020 car?

4th fastest. Sainz said after FP he was nowhere near comfortable with the car; so if they can be P7 in that situation then it bodes well for the race. Depends on the size of upgrade relative to others. They might clear the midfield or maintain their competitiveness.

Maybe something minuscule here & there. He'll probably be exploring concepts and advising on the Mcl35, but I think the team and his' major focus would be on 2021 regs.

Matching Ferrari in corners and despite a bigger rear wing faster on straights than Redbull. (higher engines modes maybe.

Sainz ‘not comfortable at all’ in McLaren despite going P7 in FP2
“I think that we cannot be taking any conclusions from this first [representative] session because I wasn’t very comfortable with the car,” said Sainz, “not comfortable at all with the warm-up of the tyres and I think some people were doing their lap times at the beginning of the session when it was very dirty. We did it a bit more towards the end when the track was cleaner. So not really a conclusion to take. We might be sixth, seventh or we might be sixteenth.”

“I didn’t feel quick at all,” he said. “I was quite surprised to see [that] lap time, because honestly, in the car, it felt quite stressful not being able to warm up the rear tyres, struggling in pretty much every braking zone, every corner entry and yeah, a lot of work to do for tomorrow.

“I prefer to guide myself more by feeling than by lap time and at the moment, the feeling is still not there yet and we need to work a lot.”

I am concerned that Renault reduces the power of the motors, for the sake of reliability, it is here in Baku. We can be easy prey on the straights.

Norris is half s slower than sainz and a toro rosso is half s faster than us its only free practice and maybe they run a high engine mode to test the upgrade from honda but it gonna be tough for Q3

On the team stream, they said Lando's time is much better than it looks, cause he set it pretty early in the session, track evolution must be strong. That said, the STR's are looking very good, especially Albon.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

It's going to be a real fight for Q2 even. I hope it's better than it looks, cause it doesn't look too good.

It's going to be down to who get's a tow, and who doesn't.

Don't think we saw a true qually sim from McLaren at the end there, think Sainz attempt was wrecked by Kimi. Too tight to call.

The most important thing and I believe everyone here agrees with me is for this year to clear up the midfield as a main target and as a secondary target start to catching up to Red Bull. Also its important to see some clear progress from the team, Also they are considering James Key to be the new Andrian Newey. It's time to show us if those hypes are true or if they are overestimating him.

It remains to be seen. If he is overestimated or if he is, is definately gonna be proven next year.

In the meantime very good Q1 from Sainz. Shows the car has great potential but we need that huge upgrade in Spain that might give us a lot of time since it will solve our issues to where we are losing time.
