Btw something big must be coming for Spain if Carlos couldn't keep mum about the "Barcelona upgrade".
Also: “I think points should be on the table pretty much at every race,” he [Carlos] said directly after the race.

I wonder what rejuvenated McLaren could do with the PU that’s in the back of the Williams...
in the current era, history seems to indicate to me that if you are going to have a customer engine, Renault would be the one to have

Its nice to see the people at Mclaren being realistic and saying they have a good upgrade rather than what we have seen this last few year of when we get our new silver bullet upgrade we will be in front of the Merc.

Small steps as long as they are all forward.

This car is looking better than the last few years so onwards and upwards.

So?
Sergio Perez is no longer only pay driver in Mclaren history.
I'm not sure you understand what a pay driver is, Lando earned his seat, as did Perez tbh, a person's wealth doesn't determine their driver status, by your logic Lewis Hamilton is also a pay driver since he the wealthiest guy on the grid
I strongly disagree.

racing isnt really a poor mans sport (in any category). because of that i would imagine the median wealth of their families are well above average to non racing families. that doesnt mean that every driver with rich parents pays to drive. Lando gets paid by mclaren to drive. something like 1 million per year i believe. unless you can provide some proof otherwise.
Khm khm....

"Senna was born in the Pro-Matre Maternity Hospital of Santana, a neighbourhood of São Paulo.[10] The middle child of wealthy Brazilian landowner and factory owner Milton da Silva and his wife Neide Senna da Silva, he had an older sister, Viviane and a younger brother, Leonardo.[11] He was left-handed."
Just imagine what would "Ronaldihno" of F1 do....if he would just been given a chance.

where is your evidence that landos dad is paying mclaren for his seat? or that he has mega endorsements like perez? if you have them then post them up, if not, then why are you even saying this? alonso had a big bank endorsement when he went to ferrari, does that make him a pay driver too?

From the point view of how evenly they treat their customers, I presume.you mean? If that is the case then yes.

You reminded me that last year I was thinking that 2019 was a do or die year for PP at McLaren. Seems almost entirely do and very little die right now.

Even Sainz is clearly faster than Norris, Sainz who was clearly beaten by Hulkenberg who is mediocore driver, not to say he was destroyed by overrated and hyped Crashstapen. So yeah Norris is in F1 10%on talent 90%on Daddy.

Lando is very optimistic :D

Question: the Team is preparing new items for the next stage, on what progress do you expect in Barcelona

Lando Norris: I hope we will play a second [-o< ! The guys at the base are doing their best, preparing new items. I do not know what progress they will make, but it is important that it be. This is especially important in Barcelona - the Spanish route is demanding on the efficiency of aerodynamics, and we need to add to this.

I didn’t quite catch the “I hope we will play a second” part. Is he expecting to gain a second of laptime from the upgrades?

Lando hopes that the updates will remove 1 second, relative to the time of the leaders. In the original, he speaks in time (1 second), but the translator translates as second (2).

I find the one second reference is interesting, because Carlos also referenced one second on Sunday, saying they're currently one second from where they need to be... Maybe that is their target, but we don't know whether for over the rest of the season. It would be near impossible to find one second in the first quarter of the season, with a car that doesn't have a fundamental flaw.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
