I remember thinking the 2008 cars were so complex with all the little aero winglets they had, but this car and the rest of the field make the 2008 car look so simple and undeveloped.

Im afraid the FW42 doesnt qualify for this list...

That bargeboard area is just mugging the air that goes by for extra downforce. Amazing how complex that looks.

What I don't get is regulations we're changed to reduce downforce so cars.could follow each other better...in a nutshell yet the cars are faster overall!! I don't understand that.

Also why does pirelli keep mucking around with tore pressures all the time?

Well all the bits appear in the "free" areas, all over, in all of the free areas...

I believe these bargeboard pieces are also for keeping the flow attached to the sidepods (and creating downwash over the sidepods, as you can see by the angled pieces), so the air goes around the undercut of the car and stays attached so that the air drives over the top of the diffuser (enhancing downforce further down the car).

They would be much faster overall if they hadn't changed the rules!

No surprise they get faster when there are 500 people working on making them faster...
