I think they do count. At the official F1 site the Mercedes WCC score is the sum of their drivers WDC score.

I didnt realise they were not counting towards the WCC. Thanks for that,
and 3 points are lost.

Edit. The F1 website has Mercedes on 217 points. That includes 2 points for fastest laps. Hamilton currently on 112 and Bottas on 105. So that makes it look like the fastest lap points have been added to the WCC.

Not a chance. There's a much higher probability that Lewis and Bottas will come together at some point, netting zero points for the team.
