Amazing result, great strategy. I don't know if Seidl is responsible, but 6th in Monaco with this car is simply great. If you're not satisfied with the result, I suggest you watch some of the races of last year. I've been sh**ting on McLaren for a full year, but their operation is great at the moment. Would I like more speed? Sure. But that doesn't mean you can't be happy for them. Perfect operation.

So guys, after this good result in Monaco, do you think we'll be competitive in Canada?
As competitive as they were in Bahrain, it's a strange track, and plays well to McLaren's strengths.

The front grip looks good since Carlos was able to pass the leading Toro Rosso on the outside. The new front wing seems to be working well!

I'd be surprised, the Red Bull is still faster than McLaren, if they're within a second of pole I'll consider it an achievement. Pole time in Canada is usually the same lap time as Monaco. I predict Pole will be in the high to mid 10's if McLaren can do mid 11's they'll be in a very good position.

That is too big of an ask just yet... But if they continue to cut the gap to the front I believe we will all be happy... So far, the team has not been leading the midfield (probably because the last 3 races haven’t favored the car)... First step/goal has to a clear midfield leader, after that’s accomplished we can then start targeting a big higher.

At the rate they're going they're clearly the 4th best team, they're pulling away from the midfield and nearly doubling the point tally of the nearest competitor. It shows the team has potential and all that is needed for it to show is careful planning.

1 redbull is significantly slower the other.

I don’t see us troubling Red Bull in Canada or anywhere else, different league. They’re firmly in the top 3, and top 2 on some tracks. We were close in Bahrain because they had setup issues which have long been solved. Besides, they don’t have an engine deficit to us, as Canada is a power track. Ferrari on paper should be strongest, if Mercedes don’t unleash more power.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Not sure about the engine deficits; Redbull was quite a way down on Barcelona straights.

Pierre is coming into his own, quietly going about his business. Hasn’t been beaten by a midfield driver (obviously, excluding his DNF in Baku) since Bahrain. He’s not close to Max yet, but the Red Bull has more than enough pace to keep him in a solid 6th.

You will note that we went to China, Baku and Barcelona with restrictions on PU.

True, so let’s see how it goes. Last year, even with a power deficit Max qualified 3rd, finished 3rd with fastest lap. I think they’ll still be strong. I’m hoping for best of the rest, I’d love us to lock out row 4.
