2.0-liter inline-four, The engine will come in two trims, base and S. The base version makes maximums of 382 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 354 lb-ft from 4750 to 5000 rpm, while the S puts out its 416 horsepower at 6750 rpm and 369 lb-ft from 5000 to 5250 rpm. (The S generates a bit more boost.) It's a whole lot more powerful than the turbo four in the current CLA45, which makes 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft, and the new engine's 7200-rpm redline is 500 rpm higher. Wet, the engine weighs a claimed 354 pounds.

A 650hp turbo 13b 2 rotor is still a much better powerplant for the atom than any I4.

I'd expect more than 41hp if they were using F1 heads and combustion tech.

Oh. I would have expected the lean burn fuel mileage more than power would have been more important for a road car.

Not considering emissions... The numbers don’t seem to so exciting, the 4B11T in my car creates approximately 620hp with a stock block and it’s daily driven.

I don’t understand why manufacturers haven’t really pushed since some 2.0L engines are capable of pushing those numbers with simple bolt-ons.

It would be a consideration but nobody buys AMGs because they sip fuel

Best of Both Worlds is a hell of a marketing angle for overpriced commodities. It would be a shame to purposefully destroy one world to make the other slightly larger.

But can you guarantee that your engin will last 250k km+ without issues? What happens if the owner uses cheap fuel and oil? What about oil consumption? And then there‘s still emissions left.

416hp in a 2 litre turbo is insane for an oem engine.remember tha taudi currently needs 2.5L and 5 cylinders for this... :D

At a I4 OEM level its impressive at a I4 with bolt on parts with stock long block it will need to be in the 800Hp level.

Is your motor covered by the manufacturer's warranty? You're claiming about 50% greater power than it came out of the factory rated for - circa 400bhp in the UK market, significantly higher than any other market and only fitted in a "special edition" (FQ400) - so I'm guessing not.

Manufacturers have to build in the necessary "idiot factor" in to their products. Whilst you are doubtless careful to look after your car, many buyers aren't. They just fill it up and drive it. Hopefully they remember to get it serviced on schedule, but many don't as can be seen in the second hand market.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

The head looks like it's just normal sparkplug and direct injection.

never unless prechamber fuel is methane ?

running at gasoline prechamber max lean would need constant lean NOx catalysis ?
the weak-minded and gutless rulemakers will never accept NOx levels possible with uncatalysed lean running
