Formula One has seen yet another controversial result of a Grand Prix as Lewis Hamiton inherited the Canadian GP race win after a controversial 5s penalty for leader Sebastian Vettel. An infuriated Vettel was classified second, ahead of Leclerc in third.
Lewis got a similar penalty in Spa 08 but there you go, he's trying to overtake to save controversy but imo taking way too much risk, fair play to him though.
There's no point in comparing this penalty to others, or wondering "What would happen if it was X or Y driver".
The fact of the matter is: The penalty is justified, but may have lacked some common sense.
Hamilton saying he wants to overtake Vettel is a total coverup. He could get to 0.6 secs with 4-5 laps left then lifted off. Disgusting behavior from him and the FIA yet not surprised by this.
Vettel didn't deserve the win today. He fell apart with lewis breathing down his neck again.
Yea FIA was a bit black and white but vettel did break the rules, and if he didn't make the error he wouldnt have the FIA to judge him in the first place.
