New FW and RW vare used in FP2, right???

It is positive, hopefully they can get more downforce on front axle. It will be interasting to see if new FW will be used in FP3.

They said the FW will stay on the car for the rest of the weekend. New floor and diffuser won't be used again.

New FW, RW, brake ducts and parts which are not visible will stay on the car. The rest of the upgrades were not planned to stay on the car anyway. They were just being tested for verifying and future development reasons.

Wonder what's new on the RW. To me it looks like launch spec.

I think the "new" RW is an older version with less hanging strakes on the RW end plates. Wasn't there a newer version introduced around Barcelona that had more hanging strakes on the end plates that they ran for a while?

Something was really, really wrong on Seb's car during qualifying... Engine and gearbox sounding really weird, not to mention totally uncontrollable car...

Ferrari changing the oil pump under park fermè makes sense... but Binotto said this had nothing to do with Seb's q3 performance.

That's usually just down to F1TV, the missed upshift is on the exit of the chicane on the straight btw 0:56

F1TV usually poor streaming quality aside... you can see something is wrong too with top speed and handling...
On 1:09 Seb is also complaining on radio and called box box immediately

Given the progress Mclaren made with the Mercedes style pushrod it might be worth a look.

Suppousedly it lowers the front with steering, probaly more suited for a car like the Merc that doesn't run lots of rake... but still.

Yep I noticed that AMuS missed the steeper, re-profiled "L" cutout in the upper right, but I wasn't sure if there were any changes to the hanging strakes you point to in the bottom left, because of how dark that portion of the photo is.

Alright in this forum we all have seen that Mercedes has gone for a draggier car but way more downforce and is thus way more faster. Even in circuits where we thought ok Ferrari has a more powerful PU it will be quicker because it has straights like Baku and Montreal they will win but turns out that was not the case.

We don't have simulation software. We realized that downforce is king in F1 and you can make a lot more time in the corners than you can being blindingly quick down the straights. This is not Nascar/indy after all.

Yet Ferrari went for that philosophy and now FINALLY a third of the season being over the Ferrari team boss is like yeah ok we need to get more downforce at the expense of top speed.

Someone please explain that to me. How Ferrari could have missed that memo where downforce >> top speed.

Presumably they thought the downforce levels they had were good enough. After all, in testing they were looking the quickest with their philosophy and maybe became complacent. Mercedes then turned up with a higher downforce package that has, on balance, proved quicker even though the Ferrari is, perhaps, faster.
