Rosberg was penalized for this. So why not Verstappen? Exact same incident.

Horner: "He has to concede the corner" -
.
Except he doesn't need to. he was side by side..

On Sky most of the staff is implying that it doesn't matter that he was side by side. I think that's ridiculous but apparently many think that in F1 a driver on the inside is allowed to shove their opponent off track when exiting a corner side by side. Effectively means that we shouldn't ever expect two cars to exit a corner side by side any more because the outside driver has no right to be there allegedly and is at risk of being run off track if they don't concede.

Yeah it's making me sick how wrong they are, and how wrong they were with Canada.

By the way don't take it the wrong way, it was a stunning drive from Max (apart from that thing in the end), and he made for a great race. But what he did there was straight out dirty, plain and simple. And of course merited a penalty.

Stewards not looking at the incident but it will be looked at away from the track an hour after the race finished. That suggests they want the crowd to disperse before they issue a decision.

Verstappen being a dirty, dirty cvnt yet again. The previous lap, he saw what happened when Leclerc managed to hang on round the outside, and the next time it happened, just blatantly slammed into him. I'm surprised this wasn't decided before the race ended, let alone the podium ceremony.
Verstappen dirty??? I dont know what race you have watched! If there is one fault its Leclerc. Also childish he don’t give Max a hand. Proud of Max today !!!!

Bottas looks like he pressed "also ran" mode, shameful.
Mercedes were having problems with overheating. Basically, sitting ducks on the straights.

Only Verstappen is summoned to the stewards.
Or maybe not, I'm not sure.

This is to be expected considering the FIA didn't discipline Verstappen when he weaved defensively in front of Raikkonen in Spa, Hungary, and so on, all those years ago and ever since. He's always been straddling the lines of legality. No wonder he made another marginal move.

That said, I've seen far worse go unpunished. If there is no penalty - especially considering its at the Red Bull Ring - I would not be surprised at all.

Leclerc could have dealt differently in order to maintain P1. I think it's not about whats right or wrong. All people asking for penalties are keeping the current rules alive. Max could have turned in earlier but Leclerc also could have avoided impact, stayed as close alongside Max as possible and focus on corner exit. I think Leclerc would have kept P1.

Care to elaborate why he left clean racing room on the outside the previous lap, but not the next lap when he hit Leclerc instead of leaving clean racing room again ?

Ferrari's choice of starting on the soft was a bad one
Except we don't know how they would've performed on Mediums. They were great on Softs but not so good on Hards, so it is possible the Medium would have been a worse choice.
