So SKY have spent all weekend bigging up Ferrari and it’s just dawned on them that they have been talking rubbish.........Brilliant.

BTW we may not get to Silverstone tomorrow as I may end up killing my lad if he doesn’t calm down!!!!!

Hamilton more than 2 seconds faster than both Ferraris in the long runs. :)
Ferrari seems to be destroying their front tires. I was watching Lewis's and Charles's on-boards during the long runs and Charles's front looked really bad compared to Lewis's. We don't know fuel loads of course but one would think they would at-least be representative.

What I don’t understand if that this isn’t a new situation. Austria was a complete outlier as the temps were miles out of the norm yet some pointed to it as proof that Ferrari had made huge steps on Mercedes.

Put Austria back in the normal temp ranges and it’s possible that Mercedes are right back at the front.

Give him a couple tins of Monster, He will be fine.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

From the AMuS report:

- Team radio transcripts suggest that Ferrari and Red Bull both used higher engine modes than Mercedes in FP.

- Mercedes gains time on Ferrari in slow corners and high-speed corners.

- In the long runs, Merc are 0.4s faster than Verstappen on Softs and 1s faster on Mediums.

- Ferrari is 1.3s behind on the mediums.

Binotto says wear is limiting Ferrari's one lap pace.

https://www.racefans.net/2019/07/12/fer ... tyre-wear/
“We knew that Silverstone would have been more difficult [for] us compared maybe to the last race, no doubt,” he said. “But we are as well curious to see the progress of the car, the progress we made in the last weeks.

“To judge today seems very difficult and still too early. We had very high wear on the front tyres, the front-left, which is really affecting the single [qualifying] lap.

“If you look we were quite strong in the first and second sectors but weak in the last one with some understeer.”

The team “will be focused on this, this evening and overnight” Binotto added.

well, they've had exactly that problem in basically all races so far this season... so I guess chances that they'll find a solution for tomorrow are relatively slim

Thanks. i reckon Max could come back over an actual race-length stint, on tyre wear
