Mercedes-AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+

Mounting points for what?
The top mounts where the engine and gearbox/gearbox casing mate.
Thanks. But I think you’ll find those connections are much further forward, 480mm behind the survival cell bulkhead.
Yep, as per my post just above your last one. :)

Engine Cover for Austrian GP:

Note the contour of the engine cover and the twin blisters by the "44".

Engine Cover in for British GP:

Note the contour of the engine cover and the blister closest to the "44" is less pronounced or even missing.

A different T-wing is also visible. I think it was used in pre-season testing or last year?
Think it was just the angle/lighting playing tricks on your eyes.

I think Bottas may have been running a different engine cover or Merc back-to-backed with both cars. I say that because I tried to focus on possible differences while watching the FP sessions and there seems to have been some indications, but I couldn't say for certain at the time.

Note how 6 of the Mercedes star logos are clear of the engine cover line, paying particular attention to the bottom most star which is above the engine cover contour:

In this image note how the bottom most sixth star falls on the engine cover contour line. Also the contour line clearly changes direction (is raised up) around the '4' of '44' closest to the front of the car:

It's just the lighting. The star falls on the same countour line in both photos.

Same contour and shape of engine cover fin from Hamilton's car in FP today.

You can also see both the blisters toward the back, even from this angle.

The blisters are there (though the rearmost one may be less pronounced, I can't say for sure), but there are definitely two different engine covers, with differing contour lines. The first image you posted clearly shows how the contour line raises around the first '4' in '44', it's nothing to do with lighting. Compare the following:

More telltales are the portholes/access covers present on the starboard sides of the cars. There is a small circular one slightly intersecting the 77 logo, low and to the right of it. This same cover is not present near the 44 logo.

On the 44 car, there are three small covers intersecting the upper portion of the 'petronas primax' logo. The 77 car has only two.

Good spot roon. =D>

It looks like Mercedes ran different cooling solutions on their cars, with Lewis using the newer or older (I'll have to check with earlier races e.g Monaco and Spain) design.

I see the different access ports roon is referring to, but that’s it.

I think the 44 cover is slightly bulged out which eliminates the second teardrop bulge. The contour of its shark fin base is more of an s-curve compared to the 77 shark fin base which is a continuous convex curve from top to tailpipe.

They're both clearly visible on the 44 car here.

Image

Direct comparison with the 77. The contour of the base of the engine cover fin looks identical to me in both photos. Both with the mounting blisters that have always existed on the W10.

Image

When you flip to the other side, the second blister is obscured by the white paint of the 44, but it is more easily visible in this better lighting:

Blisters present once again, on both cars. Same fin shape.

The intersection line of the shark fin and engine cover seem different.

Excellent images zibby, the differences are quite clear there:

Using Blaze1's star counting method, and assuming the livery is a reliable datum, I count six stars on on the flat vertical area of the shark fin of 77, and five on 44. Demarcated below, second image.

You just proved they're different by counting the stars though zibby!?
